How Nicotine pouches are made
You might have seen Nicotine Pouches for sale in your local supermarket, petrol station or even local vape shop, and you’ve probably wondered what exactly how nicotine pouches are made? Even if you’re a user of them, you still might not fully understand what goes into making these white pouches but fear not! That’s what this blog is all about. I’m going to explain and breakdown what goes into a can of our latest brand of Nicotine Pouches to hit our store, DIP Nicotine pouches. I’ll explain the ingredients used and the role they play in making sure you get a satisfying nicotine hit every single time you use one!
What are Nicotine Pouches?
As mentioned above, you may have wondered in the past what exactly are Nicotine pouches and what do they do? Let me explain! Nicotine pouches are small white pouches that people use as a nicotine replacement if they have given up smoking or wanted to change from using something like an E-Cigarette as Nicotine replacement therapy.
Nicotine pouches are a small white pouch design that is filled with the essential ingredients (which I’m coming on to explain shortly) and the pouch is placed in the mouth to rest between the upper gum and lip, and the nicotine is then absorbed through the gum and into the bloodstream, giving you a nice punchy nicotine kick that last for up to 60 minutes with each pouch used.
Nicotine Pouches do not have any form of tobacco whatsoever, so you might be asking where the nicotine comes from? It’s produced in powder form and mixed with other powdered ingredients to create the nicotine pouches, and the nicotine content will vary depending on which strength you buy.
What goes into a Nicotine Pouch?
Now we come on to the main topic of this blog, and we are going to look at exactly what goes into a Nicotine Pouch.
When you take a look at a Nicotine pouch, it looks pretty simple and straight forward. A small white pouch filled with powder, simple as that right? Well not quite. There are actually quite a few things that go into making the powder inside these white pouches!
As mentioned, I’m going to specifically look at what goes into DIP Nicotine Pouches, a new brand of Nicotine pouches made at a state-of-the-art facility in the North of England. Each DIP Nicotine Pouch contains.
- Nicotine Alkaloids (I’ll explain this in detail below)
- Flavourings
- Texturizer (Microcrystalline Cellulose)
- Stabilisers (Vegetable Glycerine & Propylyne Glycol, same stuff that goes in vape juice!)
And that’s it! Nothing else that shouldn’t be in there, and to reiterate they don’t have tobacco of any form inside the pouches. Snus pouches are what contain tobacco, and they’re banned in all countries in the EU & the UK.
Let’s have a look at what role these ingredients have in a nicotine pouch shall we?
Nicotine
Obviously start with the primary ingredient in nicotine pouches, and that is the Nicotine itself. DIP Nicotine Pouches however don’t use traditional run of the mill nicotine, DIP features Nicotine Alkaloids, which are a whole separate entity from standard Nicotine.
Nicotine itself actually belongs to a family of compounds named Alkaloids which are found at the highest levels within a tobacco plant.
By adding in Nicotine Alkaloids to a nicotine pouch, this means that you will be able to experience the exact same satisfaction as what you’d get from smoking a cigarette, just without the deadly chemicals and toxins found in a lit cigarette and leave your nicotine cravings curbed and you will be satisfied for a longer period of time meaning you won’t be constantly reaching for your tin of DIP as well as resisting those urges lurking to relapse and go back to smoking or using an E-Cig!
Flavourings
DIP comes in 3 different flavours: Polar Mint, Ice Cool and Blueberry Ice.
Flavourings will be added to each pouch depending on what one is being made. They are natural food grade food flavourings, and completely safe to be used in Nicotine Pouches.
The flavourings work by being released once the nicotine pouch has been put in place in your mouth and will leave your mouth feeling refreshed and your cravings for nicotine squashed!
Texturizer (Microcrystalline Cellulose)
You might not have heard of this ingredient and may be wondering why it’s included in Nicotine Pouches. Microcrystalline Cellulose is a texturizer, which is commonly used in food production for all different reasons. DIP manufacturers again only use food grade quality ingredients that are fit for purpose, and everything is tested and has to pass regulatory checks before being released for sale.
Stabilizers
No, not the ones you had on your bike as a child, the stabilizers used in DIP pouches are very different. DIP uses powder forms of Vegetable Glycerine and Propylene Glycol (VG & PG) which act as stabilizers.
These are vital to be included as they can enhance the flavour of your nicotine pouches, as well as maintaining a good consistency and moisture within the pouch to stop them drying out, and also, they act as a binding agent keeping everything together. Clever stuff right?
I hope this has answered any questions or queries you may have had before starting to use Nicotine Pouches, and it’s given you a clear insight and explanation into what goes into DIP Nicotine Pouches. DIP is available to buy in our online shop, and we also stock a great range of other popular brands available for you to purchase!
